OUR TEAM

Johan (J.B.D.) Lawson

He was admitted as an attorney for the first time in the High Court of Justice on May 26, 1992, as the founder of Lawson's Law and recognised as a conveyer and notary public. Johan's experience includes criminal offences, property transfers, notarial writing, and deceased estates. He consults with the firm regularly and offers professional guidance to all Lawson's Law Inc. clients.

Le-Roy Lawson

On June 30, 2014, Le-Roy was admitted as an attorney and a notary public, and he also served as a director of Lawson's Law, Inc. He has insolvency experience, has worked under Johan Lawson's mentorship, and handles all estate surrenders, liquidations, inheritance claims, sequestrations, additional divorce procedures, and different technical challenges.

Roelien Blignaut

Roelien is in charge of all conveyance problems. She has been with Lawson's Law since August of 2015. She has extensive knowledge of all elements of property transactions and bond registration. She is a well-known conveyancing typist, and her professionalism is greatly admired and appreciated by estate agents and our clients.

Samantha Scott

Samantha has been at Lawson's Law Inc. since April 2013. On August 25, 2017, she was admitted as an attorney. She has years of experience in general litigation and deceased estates, and her passion for the profession has grown to the point where she now handles conveyancing concerns.

RIANA JONES

Riana joined Lawson's Law Inc. in September 2017. She is a fantastic employee who heads the deceased estate's administration department and is meticulous in her attention to detail and precision. She is dedicated to her work and handles all clients respectfully and professionally. She also assists all solicitors daily.

Alex George

Since April 2008, George has worked at Lawson's Law Inc. He was admitted to the bar on August 25, 2010. He has years of expertise in general litigation and deceased estates, and his enthusiasm for the field has evolved to the point where he now tackles conveyancing difficulties as well as other legal issues.

Tarisa De La Port

Tarisa, the newest team member of Lawson's Attorneys, Inc., is solely responsible for conveyancing and bond registrations. Her expertise in all elements of property transactions and bond registration is invaluable. She is a well-known and well-respected conveyancing typist, and both estate agents and customers value her expertise.

Marnel Janse van Nieuwenhuizen

Marnel has joined the conveyancing team to provide our customers with the finest service possible.

Emileen Van Heerden

Emileen van Heerden was admitted to the bar in 2000. Emileen began her legal career as a candidate attorney at Uys & Coetzee Attorneys, focusing on litigation in the high and magistrate courts until becoming a conveyancer in 2002. She worked as a professional assistant for Tim du Toit & Co. in Houghton from 2001 to 2003 and then moved on to Van der Merwe du Toit in Pretoria, where she specialised in all parts of conveyancing. She also obtained experience with numerous property transactions while working with M.C. van der Berg Attorneys and Lategan Viljoen & Pretorius in the United Kingdom.

TALITA TALJAARD

Talita joined the team in December 2017 after finishing her papers. Her devotion, hard work, and dedication led her to specialise in general conveyancing, notarial contracts, and property law. She mostly pays attention to the conveyancing section.

MELANIE WESSELS

Melanie has been a paralegal since January 2022 and will register with the LPC in early 2024. She delivers precise, professional service. She has worked in litigation, business law, and conveyancing.

We strictly handle conveyance matters. Roelien has been employed at Lawson's Law Inc. since August 2015. Mari joined us in October 2016, and Tarisa and Talita joined in 2018. The team has abundant experience in all aspects of property transfers and the registration of bonds. We are proud of our professionalism and excellence in all areas of conveyancing and constantly endeavour to assist our clients in the most accommodating manner. Our team is highly respected and trusted, and not only estate agents widely enjoy their professionalism, but our clients as well.

About Us

The firm was started in 1995 as a sole proprietorship by Johan Lawson and was sold to a partnership in 2000, with offices in London and sub-offices in Scotland and Wales. The firm then continued under various names and gained further experience in all fields of law. In 2011, the firm was re-acquired by Johan Lawson, who commenced practicing as a sole proprietorship once more. Other staff were acquired to broaden the firm's workload and to grow the firm towards a better service return time for clients on their case registrations or disputes. In July 2014, Le-Roy Lawson became a partner, and the firm operated as a partnership. The firm was then registered in the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission records and started to work as an incorporated company at the start of 2015.
